Does BYU offer prep courses for exams?
Yes. The Conferences and Workshops department offers prep course for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, and DAT. Call (801) 422-3550 or email them at cw136@byu.edu for more information. You may also visit their website http://testprep.byu.edu.
Do you accept the Miller's Analogy Test?
In special cases some departments may accept the MAT in lieu of the GRE. Check with your department before submitting scores. The Special Education department does accept the MAT.

How long does BYU keep GMAT scores?
BYU purges all scores more than five years old. If your scores will be more than five years old when the semester to which you are applying begins, you will need to retake the GMAT.
Do I have to take the GRE?
Maybe. Please look at the program details to see if the GRE is a department requirement.
Where do I obtain a GRE booklet?
GRE Registration booklets are available on campus at Graduate Studies, B-356 ASB.
When should I take the GRE?
You should take the test at least six to eight weeks before your program’s deadline to ensure the timely arrival of scores.
How do I take the GRE?
The computer-based test is offered generally Monday-Saturday at Thomas Prometric Test Centers. You may view available dates and times, as well as register for the test online at www.gre.org. The paper-based test is offered three times a year. Contact ETS for an information booklet or to register. The subject tests are usually offered three times a year (November, December, and April) on paper only.
Can I send a photocopy of my GRE scores? I can't afford to have scores sent by ETS, and I can certify
that my
student copy is accurate. Will that fill the requirement?
No. We must receive official test scores from ETS. Photocopies and student copies of test scores are unofficial and may keep your application from being considered.
I don't like the score I got on the GRE.
Can I take it again?
Yes. If you take the test by computer, you may take it once a month, up to five times a year. If you take the paper-based test, you may retake it the next time it is offered.
How long does BYU keep GRE scores?
ETS, the company that administers the GRE, keeps scores for five years only. Thus, BYU also purges its system after five years as well. If your scores will be more than five years old when the semester to which you are applying begins, you will need to retake the GRE.
I had my scores sent to BYU when I applied last year. Do you still have my scores on file?
We retain all student scores in our system for five years from the time you took the test so you do not need to have ETS resend your scores.
Is there a minimum GRE score required by BYU?
No. Check with your department to learn whether your score is competitive. Click here to view a list of programs. Select a program from the list to view its profile, which includes the mean test scores from the admitted students over the last five years.
How do I obtain a copy of my GRE test scores?
Check ETS's Web site or call 1-800-GRE-CALL for information on obtaining copies of test scores.

Does any department accept the MCAT?
The Physiology and Developmental Biology program accepts the MCAT in place of the GRE.
How do I submit my MCAT scores to BYU?
Send a copy of your scores, including the verification code, to Graduates Studies so we may verify the scores online and enter them into our system.

Physiology and Development Biology accepts the DAT in place of the GRE.

All applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit either IELTS or TOEFL scores. If you are a citizen of, or have graduated from an institution in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Republic of Ireland, New Zealand, or Australia, you do not need to take either test.
