All applicants who have not received a bachelor's degree (or higher) from an educational institution in the United States or from one of the exempt countries (Canada, the U.K., the Republic of Ireland, New Zealand, or Australia) are required to submit official IELTS or TOEFL scores in order to be considered for admission. Please note: The degree must not be older than 2 years at the time of enrollment to qualify for an exemption. U.S. Permanent Residents (PR) are not waived from the English proficiency requirement unless they have met the criteria above. The following minimum scores are required to be eligible for admission.
TOEFL Internet based test (iBT): 85 total score and subscores of 22 speaking and 21 in all other categories
Academics IELTS: 7.0 overall with 6.0 in each module
There may be a hold placed on your account which prevents you from registering. Since there are many different holds, please contact the appropriate office associated with the hold to remove that hold.
If you have forgotten your Net ID or password, navigate to the Route Y login page and click on the link 'Forgot Net ID or password'. You can also contact the Office of Information Technology at (801) 422-4000. Parents can only get their child's Net ID or password if the child is still considered a dependent, or if the parent has a written release from the student stating that they can have access to the Net ID and/or password.
The online application is the same for international applicants. However, there are two additional requirements that must be met; (1) must submit English proficiency scores (TOEFL or IELTS), and (2) must have proof of a bachelor’s degree (non-U.S. degrees) evaluated by one of two evaluation agencies IERF or WES . Upon admission, international applicants must also show evidence of finances.
