October - Lynn Clark Callister

Joy Cometh in the Morning
The Psalmist eloquently said, "Weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalms 30:5). Reflecting on over six decades of mortality, the hand of the Lord is evident through challenges and opportunities, as blessings in disguise and daily miracles provide evidence that joy literally comes in the morning after the darkness of night.
Lynn Clark Callister is a professor in the Brigham Young University College of Nursing and a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. She is in her 20th year of teaching at the university. She has conducted cross-cultural studies of women for two decades and was a Fulbright Scholar to the Russian Federation.
She has served as a ward Relief Society president four times and a stake Relief Society president twice. She and her husband Dick are the parents of eleven children and have 42 grandchildren. She has a passion for quilting and writing. She currently serves with her husband in the Missionary Training Center in the Russian Branch.
