The Equal Employment Opportunity Department develops and maintains the University's Affirmative Action Program to assure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations on equal opportunity and assists personnel, students, and departments in the resolution of alleged discrimination and sexual harassment. The manager is responsible for campus-wide training involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Title IX of the Education Amendment.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Department also provides training and consultation on equal opportunity issues. Brigham Young University does not allow unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, veteran status, pregnancy, or disability in the academic or employment setting. This includes unlawful sexual harassment, which is a violation of university standards, as well as state and Federal laws, and may be considered grounds for discipline.
