Application Instructions
Step 1: Create A Route Y NetID
If you do not already have a BYU NetID, you should create one.Update Your Contact Information
- Log in to Route Y from www.byu.edu. You will be required to change your password the first time you log in.
- Under the Communication heading, select "Personal Information".
- Select the "Contact" link and enter your address, phone number, and e-mail address. Correspondence from the BYU Campus Accommodations Office is sent to the e-mail address you list on Route Y. If necessary, please add housing@byu.edu to your contact/allowed list on your e-mail so we can easily communicate with you. Always keep your e-mail address updated so you do not miss important dates, events, and other information!
Step 2: Submit An On-Campus Housing Application
You will be able to pick your own room based on the order in which we receive your housing application.
You do not need to be admitted to BYU in order to submit an On-Campus Housing Application.How to Apply
- Log in to My Housing Account. You can access
My Housing Account in either of the following ways:
- Log in to My Housing Account from the BYU On-Campus Housing web page (above).
- Log in to Route Y from the BYU home page and select My Housing Account from the "School" menu.
- Under the Applications menu, select "Single Student Housing Application".
Does Submitting An Application Guarantee Me Housing?
No. Submitting an application merely lets us know you are interested. Based on the date and time we receive your application, you will be given a Room
Selection Date. On your Room Selection Date, you may select your room from among any that are available to you at that time; however, there is no guarantee
there will be any space available on your Room Selection Date. Please see our Room Selection Instructions
for more information regarding the Room Selection Process.How Do I Cancel My Application?
- Log in to My Housing Account.
- Under the Applications menu, select "Cancel Housing Applications".
