The Hall Advisor position is a full-time staff position with the university. Residence Life does not hire couples as Hall Advisors. Openings for the Hall Advisor position are posted through the BYU Administrative and Staff Employment Services website, and all applications must be submitted online through this link. Often, the most rewarding aspect of the hall advisor position is the opportunity to influence the lives of college students. Because of the direct daily contact with a large number of students, a hall advisor can have a definite impact on their spiritual, academic, and developmental growth. The hall advisor's primary role is that of educator-a role supported by BYU and BYU Residence Life.
