Your area central building houses the offices of the area manager, assistant manager, office specialist, custodial staff, and the area RHA council. The area central building and Wyview Park Office also offer many services to students.

Activities students can do at the front desk may include the following:

• Make appointments with the area management
• Ask housing questions
• Make housing and IT Services payments
• Put money on Signature Card accounts
• Buy stamps (some areas have stamp machines in the lobby) and drop off outgoing mail
• Send faxes
• Reserve facilities for hall, ward, or personal activities
• Check out sports equipment
• Borrow tools or jumper cables
• Read magazines and newspapers
• Use the lobby photocopy machine or the change machine

A dining hall is located in the Cannon Center. Planned menus are available from Dining Services employees or from the Dining Services website.


At Helaman Halls, a study room is available at the back of the Cannon Center conference room in the evening hours. This space is shared with the math lab.


Students may reserve a variety of area facilities for hall, ward, or personal activities, including multipurpose rooms, kitchen, patios, barbecue grills, and volleyball courts. Contact the front desk for any reservation you need to make. It is advisable to plan ahead – especially during busy times of the semester.


At Helaman Halls, the Cannon Center also has a big-screen television and lounge area for student use. Students can pick up snacks at Cosmo's Connection (a snack bar in the Cannon Center) and the Creamery at Wyview.


At Heritage Halls, the area central building also houses the Resource Center. As a resident of On-Campus Housing, you can check out things like sewing machines, dishes (that match), glassware, tablecloths, and special cookware. Cooking demonstrations are held weekly in the food preparation area. Consultants are available to answer questions on home skills, crafts, sewing, menus, etc. Hours for the resource center are posted each semester.
